<P>A signature is a brief message that is automatically added to the end of outgoing
|
|
messages. It can include your name, street address, email address, telephone
|
|
number, or whatever you want it to. You can create as many signatures as you
|
|
want (If you are using Eudora in Light mode, you may set up only one signature).
|
|
To create a new signature, do the following:</P>
|
|

|
<LI>Select <B>Window>Signatures</B>. The Signatures window is displayed.</LI><BR>
|
|
<BR>
|
|
|
|
<LI>Click the <B>New</B> button and a signature icon appears.</LI><BR><BR>
|
|
|
|
<LI>Type a name for the signature in the highlighted edit box, then press <B>Return</B>.
|
|
A text window for the signature is displayed.</LI><BR><BR>
|
|
|
|
<LI>Type your signature text in the window.</LI><BR><BR>
|
|
|
|
<LI>Select <B>File>Save</B> to save the signature.</LI><BR><BR>
|
|
|
|
<LI>Close the text window.</LI>
|
|

<P><B>Note:</B> To rename the signature, click once on the signature name next
|
|
to the icon, and after a brief pause the edit box is highlighted. Type the new
|
|
name and press <B>Return</B>.</P>
|

<H4>Modifying an Existing Signature</H4>
|
|
<P>To modify an existing signature, do the following:</P>
|
|

|
<LI>Select <B>Window>Signatures</B>. The Signatures window is displayed.</LI>
|
|
<BR><BR>
|
|
|
|
<LI>Click once on the icon of the signature you wish to modify. This highlights
|
|
the item.</LI><BR><BR>
|
|
|
|
<LI>Click the <B>Edit</B> button: a text window appears containing the signature
|
|
you have just selected.</LI><BR><BR>
|
|
|
|
<LI>Make any changes you want, save the file (<B>File>Save</B>), and close
|
|
the text window. </LI>
|
|

<H4>Deleting an Existing Signature</H4>
|
|
<P>To delete an existing signature, do the following:</P>
|
|

|
|
<LI>Select <B>Window>Signatures</B>. The Signatures window is displayed.</LI>
|
|
<BR><BR>
|
|
|
|
<LI>Click once on the icon of the signature you want to delete. This highlights
|
|
the item.</LI><BR><BR>
|
|
|
|
<LI>Click the <B>Remove</B> button. The signature is deleted. <B>Note:</B> You
|
|
are <I>not</I> prompted to confirm the deletion.</LI>
|
|

<H4>Using Your Signatures</H4>
|
|

<LI>To include a signature in an outgoing message, select the signature you
|
|
want from the <B>Signature</B> popup on the message's icon bar. Click
|
|
the icon and the popup menu appears.

<LI>To include a particular signature in all of your outgoing messages from
|
|
your dominant personality only, open the Composing Mail Settings (<B>Special>Settings...>Composing
|
|
Mail</B>) and select the signature you want from the <B>Signature</B> popup
|
|
menu. You can change this for a particular message by selecting a different
|
|
signature or <B>None</B> from the <B>Signature</B> popup on the icon bar of
|
|
the composition window.

<LI>To include a particular signature in all of your outgoing messages from
|
|
any of your personalities (email accounts), open the Personality Extras Settings
|
|
(<B>Special></B> <B>Settings...>Personality Extras</B>) and select the
|
|
signature you want from the <B>Signature when not using stationery</B> popup
|
|
for that personality. Again, you can change the signature for any message
|
|
from that account using the <B>Signature</B> popup on the icon bar of the
|
|
composition window.

<P><B>Note:</B> When using stationery, bear in mind that the signature stored
|
|
with the stationery file prevails, but you can always make the final selection
|
|
from the <B>Signature</B> popup on the icon bar of the composition window. See
