125e3d3959 DebugInfo: Gut DISubprogram and DILexicalBlock*
Gut the `DIDescriptor` wrappers around `MDLocalScope` subclasses. Note
that `DILexicalBlock` wraps `MDLexicalBlockBase`, not `MDLexicalBlock`.

92d1a52362 DebugInfo: Remove DITypedArray<>, replace with typedefs
Replace all uses of `DITypedArray<>` with `MDTupleTypedArrayWrapper<>`
and `MDTypeRefArray`. The APIs are completely different, but the
provided functionality is the same: treat an `MDTuple` as if it's an
array of a particular element type.

To simplify this patch a bit, I've temporarily typedef'ed
`DebugNodeArray` to `DIArray` and `MDTypeRefArray` to `DITypeArray`.
I've also temporarily conditionalized the accessors to check for null --
eventually these should be changed to asserts and the callers should
check for null themselves.

There's a tiny accompanying patch to clang.

1545953510 IR: Stop using DIDescriptor::is*() and auto-casting
`DIDescriptor`'s subclasses allow construction from incompatible
pointers, and `DIDescriptor` defines a series of `isa<>`-like functions
(e.g., `isCompileUnit()` instead of `isa<MDCompileUnit>()`) that clients
tend to use like this:

    if (DICompileUnit(N).isCompileUnit())
      foo(DICompileUnit(N));

These construction patterns work together to make `DIDescriptor` behave
differently from normal pointers.

Instead, use built-in `isa<>`, `dyn_cast<>`, etc., and only build
`DIDescriptor`s from pointers that are valid for their type.

I've split this into a few commits for different parts of LLVM and clang
(to decrease the patch size and increase the chance of review).
Generally the changes I made were NFC, but in a few places I made things
stricter if it made sense from the surrounded code.

Eventually a follow-up commit will remove the API for the "old" way.

27821d7200 LowerBitSets: Use byte arrays instead of bit sets to represent in-memory bit sets.
By loading from indexed offsets into a byte array and applying a mask, a
program can test bits from the bit set with a relatively short instruction
sequence. For example, suppose we have 15 bit sets to lay out:

A (16 bits), B (15 bits), C (14 bits), D (13 bits), E (12 bits),
F (11 bits), G (10 bits), H (9 bits), I (7 bits), J (6 bits), K (5 bits),
L (4 bits), M (3 bits), N (2 bits), O (1 bit)

These bits can be laid out in a 16-byte array like this:

      Byte Offset
    0123456789ABCDEF
Bit
  7 HHHHHHHHHIIIIIII
  6 GGGGGGGGGGJJJJJJ
  5 FFFFFFFFFFFKKKKK
  4 EEEEEEEEEEEELLLL
  3 DDDDDDDDDDDDDMMM
  2 CCCCCCCCCCCCCCNN
  1 BBBBBBBBBBBBBBBO
  0 AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

For example, to test bit X of A, we evaluate ((bits[X] & 1) != 0), or to
test bit X of I, we evaluate ((bits[9 + X] & 0x80) != 0). This can be done
in 1-2 machine instructions on x86, or 4-6 instructions on ARM.

This uses the LPT multiprocessor scheduling algorithm to lay out the bits
efficiently.

Saves ~450KB of instructions in a recent build of Chromium.

d63e5ad9c5 LowerBitSets: Align referenced globals.
This change aligns globals to the next highest power of 2 bytes, up to a
maximum of 128. This makes it more likely that we will be able to compress
bit sets with a greater alignment. In many more cases, we can now take
advantage of a new optimization also introduced in this patch that removes
bit set checks if the bit set is all ones.

The 128 byte maximum was found to provide the best tradeoff between instruction
overhead and data overhead in a recent build of Chromium. It allows us to
remove ~2.4MB of instructions at the cost of ~250KB of data.

5a81e14385 Introduce bitset metadata format and bitset lowering pass.
This patch introduces a new mechanism that allows IR modules to co-operatively
build pointer sets corresponding to addresses within a given set of
globals. One particular use case for this is to allow a C++ program to
efficiently verify (at each call site) that a vtable pointer is in the set
of valid vtable pointers for the class or its derived classes. One way of
doing this is for a toolchain component to build, for each class, a bit set
that maps to the memory region allocated for the vtables, such that each 1
bit in the bit set maps to a valid vtable for that class, and lay out the
vtables next to each other, to minimize the total size of the bit sets.

The patch introduces a metadata format for representing pointer sets, an
'@llvm.bitset.test' intrinsic and an LTO lowering pass that lays out the globals
and builds the bitsets, and documents the new feature.

02474a32eb Move the complex address expression out of DIVariable and into an extra
argument of the llvm.dbg.declare/llvm.dbg.value intrinsics.

Previously, DIVariable was a variable-length field that has an optional
reference to a Metadata array consisting of a variable number of
complex address expressions. In the case of OpPiece expressions this is
wasting a lot of storage in IR, because when an aggregate type is, e.g.,
SROA'd into all of its n individual members, the IR will contain n copies
of the DIVariable, all alike, only differing in the complex address
reference at the end.

By making the complex address into an extra argument of the
dbg.value/dbg.declare intrinsics, all of the pieces can reference the
same variable and the complex address expressions can be uniqued across
the CU, too.
Down the road, this will allow us to move other flags, such as
"indirection" out of the DIVariable, too.

The new intrinsics look like this:
declare void @llvm.dbg.declare(metadata %storage, metadata %var, metadata %expr)
declare void @llvm.dbg.value(metadata %storage, i64 %offset, metadata %var, metadata %expr)

This patch adds a new LLVM-local tag to DIExpressions, so we can detect
and pretty-print DIExpression metadata nodes.

What this patch doesn't do:

This patch does not touch the "Indirect" field in DIVariable; but moving
that into the expression would be a natural next step.

d8b23109b2 Finishing touch for the std::error_code transition.
While std::error_code itself seems to work OK in all platforms, there
are few annoying differences with regards to the std::errc enumeration.

This patch adds a simple llvm enumeration, which will hopefully avoid build
breakages in other platforms and surprises as we get more uses of
std::error_code.

7acd886ecf Use std::error_code instead of llvm::error_code.
The idea of this patch is to turn llvm/Support/system_error.h into a
transitional header that just brings in the erorr_code api to the llvm
namespace. I will remove it shortly afterwards.

The cases where the general idea needed some tweaking:

* std::errc is a namespace in msvc, so we cannot use "using std::errc". I could
add an #ifdef, but there were not that many uses, so I just added std:: to
them in this patch.

* Template specialization had to be moved to the std namespace in this
patch set already.

* The msvc implementation of default_error_condition doesn't seem to
provide the same transformations as we need. Not too surprising since
the standard doesn't actually say what "equivalent" means. I fixed the
problem by keeping our old mapping and using it at error_code
construction time.

Despite these shortcomings I think this is still a good thing. Some reasons:

* The different implementations of system_error might improve over time.
* It removes 925 lines of code from llvm already.
* It removes 6313 bytes from the text segment of the clang binary when
it is built with gcc and 2816 bytes when building with clang and
libstdc++.

27c076ae40 Fix most of PR10367.
This patch changes the design of GlobalAlias so that it doesn't take a
ConstantExpr anymore. It now points directly to a GlobalObject, but its type is
independent of the aliasee type.

To avoid changing all alias related tests in this patches, I kept the common
syntax

@foo = alias i32* @bar

to mean the same as now. The cases that used to use cast now use the more
general syntax

@foo = alias i16, i32* @bar.

Note that GlobalAlias now behaves a bit more like GlobalVariable. We
know that its type is always a pointer, so we omit the '*'.

For the bitcode, a nice surprise is that we were writing both identical types
already, so the format change is minimal. Auto upgrade is handled by looking
through the casts and no new fields are needed for now. New bitcode will
simply have different types for Alias and Aliasee.

One last interesting point in the patch is that replaceAllUsesWith becomes
smart enough to avoid putting a ConstantExpr in the aliasee. This seems better
than checking and updating every caller.

A followup patch will delete getAliasedGlobal now that it is redundant. Another
patch will add support for an explicit offset.

589d637725 Simplify remove, create_directory and create_directories.
Before this patch they would take an boolean argument to say if the path
already existed. This was redundant with the returned error_code which is able
to represent that. This allowed for callers to incorrectly check only the
existed flag instead of first checking the error code.

Instead, pass in a boolean flag to say if the previous (non-)existence should be
an error or not.

Callers of the of the old simple versions are not affected. They still ignore
the previous (non-)existence as they did before.

subsequent changes are easier to review. About to fix some layering
issues, and wanted to separate out the necessary churn.

Also comment and sink the include of "Windows.h" in three .inc files to
match the usage in Memory.inc.

daa1bf3b74 [asan] rewrite asan's stack frame layout
Summary:
Rewrite asan's stack frame layout.
First, most of the stack layout logic is moved into a separte file
to make it more testable and (potentially) useful for other projects.
Second, make the frames more compact by using adaptive redzones
(smaller for small objects, larger for large objects).
Third, try to minimized gaps due to large alignments (this is hypothetical since
today we don't see many stack vars aligned by more than 32).

The frames indeed become more compact, but I'll still need to run more benchmarks
before committing, but I am sking for review now to get early feedback.

This change will be accompanied by a trivial change in compiler-rt tests
to match the new frame sizes.

d976d43f23 Introduce factory methods for SpecialCaseList
Summary:
Doing work in constructors is bad: this change suggests to
call SpecialCaseList::create(Path, Error) instead of
"new SpecialCaseList(Path)". Currently the latter may crash with
report_fatal_error, which is undesirable - sometimes we want to report
the error to user gracefully - for example, if he provides an incorrect
file as an argument of Clang's -fsanitize-blacklist flag.

46e11c4c97 Implement categories for special case lists.
A special case list can now specify categories for specific globals,
which can be used to instruct an instrumentation pass to treat certain
functions or global variables in a specific way, such as by omitting
certain aspects of instrumentation while keeping others, or informing
the instrumentation pass that a specific uninstrumentable function
has certain semantics, thus allowing the pass to instrument callers
according to those semantics.

For example, AddressSanitizer now uses the "init" category instead of
global-init prefixes for globals whose initializers should not be
instrumented, but which in all other respects should be instrumented.

The motivating use case is DataFlowSanitizer, which will have a
number of different categories for uninstrumentable functions, such
as "functional" which specifies that a function has pure functional
semantics, or "discard" which indicates that a function's return
value should not be labelled.
