c2b3e370d6 - apply hunk that fixes an issue with (wrong?) dependencies. Initial notes were: 
There is something wrong in the new buildsys: If one selects ip and has e.g.
  rule or route unset, ip still wants to build those.
  This fails (correctly) since rtnl_rttable_n2a and rtnl_rtrealm_n2a aren't
  available if they were turned off. TODO: Talk to vda about this

12c96a64a4 - set the scope properly. Thanks to Jean Wolter, who wrote: 
busybox ip and the original ip utility behave differently when setting
the following route (verified with ip route show using the original ip
utility):

   ip route add 10.0.0.138 dev eth0

Result for busybox ip:

       # ip route add 10.0.0.138 dev eth0
       # /usr/local/bin/ip route show
       10.0.0.138 dev eth0

Result for ip:

       # /usr/local/bin/ip route add 10.0.0.138 dev eth0
       #  /usr/local/bin/ip route show
       10.0.0.138 dev eth0  scope link

A following "ip route add default via 10.0.0.138" fails for busybox
ip, since the kernel can not find a route to 10.0.0.138 (it replies
with Network is unreachable).

The reasons seems to be that the original ip utility explicitly sets
the scope after parsing all parameters. This is missing in busybox,
the attached patch fixes this. I took this from the original iproute
sources and removed some variables, which are not needed for busybox.

53091ecd20 Attempt to get more applets compile for NOMMU. 
TODO_config_nommu documents what I managed to compile so far
(yay! msh works! cool). inetd, telnetd, httpd still do not compile. TODO
Also make fork(), daemon() produce warnings on compile stage
(in addition to erros on link stage).

9067f13be0 NOMMU re-exec trick shuld not depend on existence of "don't daemonize" 
option for every affected applet (and dnsd, for example, don't have one).
Thus rework re-exec support to not require it. Code got smaller too.

b9a279ba94 Unify ping and ping6. ping has -4 and -6 which force 
name resolution into IP or IPv6 only, otherwise
we take address family returned by host2sockaddr()
in lsa->sa.sa_family. IOW: "ping ::1" with do IPv6 ping,
"ping 127.0.0.1" will do IPv4 ping.
ping6 is aliased to "ping -6".

7a431b3715 By popular request reinstate fakeidentd's standalone mode. 
Since this is also needed for other applets like telnetd,
introduce generic driver for such things.
It even supports inetd-wait ('linger') mode, when inetd
hands out listen socket to child and waits to it to die,
instead of handing out accepted socket and continuing
listening itself (nowait mode).
Code growth ~200 bytes.
NB: our inetd doesn't support wait mode yet (or mabe it is buggy).

9de420c27c Improve generic ipv4+ipv6 support in libbb. 
Convert telnet to it. Now this works:
telnetd -b [::1]:1234 - bind to IPv6 non-standard port
telnet [::1]:1234 - connect to IPv6 non-standard port
telnet ::1 1234 - same
This does not require ANY ipv6-specific code in applets
(no struct sockaddr_in6. In fact, no sockaddr_in, too).

It is impossible to formulate sane ABI based on
size of ulong because it can be 32-bit or 64-bit.
Basically it means that you cannot portably use
more that 32 option chars in one call anyway...

f5fc1384e9 So, in the cornucopia of superfulous warning directives I didn't add to the 
tree, we have the warning about failed inlines (which with our inline
limit set to zero means any usage of the "inline" keyword at all).  Note
that setting the inline limit to zero, and using -Werror, both predated
adding the warning about inlines to the tree.  So whatever checkin added
that did nothing but break the tree.  But oh well.

The second category of superfluous warnings is warning about functions with
no previous declaration.  Apparently, if you add ALWAYS_INLINE to an empty
function definition, it considers the sucker undeclared as far as the
warning is concerned.  (I.E. it's a buggy warning.  I try not to ask the
compiler to generate warnings it can't competently generate.)

This is why I removed "inline" (unbreak allbareconfig), and couldn't replace it
with "ALWAYS_INLINE" (still broke allbareconfig).

27d07c9ce2 Now that we have xopen3(), it's just plain unclean to have xopen() with 
O_CREAT.  Two users are still doing it (and thus getting permissions 777),
I'm not sure what permissions they should be using but here they are
changed to xopen3().  This costs us a dozen or so bytes, but removing the
777 from xopen() should get some of that back.

081e38483e Remove xcalloc() and convert its callers to xzalloc(). About half of them 
were using "1" as one of the arguments anyway, and as for the rest a multiply
and a push isn't noticeably bigger than pushing two arguments on the stack.

d921b2ecc0 Remove bb_ prefixes from xfuncs.c (and a few other places), consolidate 
things like xasprintf() into xfuncs.c, remove xprint_file_by_name() (it only
had one user), clean up lots of #includes...  General cleanup pass.  What I've
been doing for the last couple days.

And it conflicts!  I've removed httpd.c from this checkin due to somebody else
touching that file.  It builds for me.  I have to catch a bus.  (Now you know
why I'm looking forward to Mercurial.)

c9c1a41c58 A couple things that got tangled up in my tree, easier to check in both than 
untangle them:

Rewrite u_signal_names() into get_signum() and get_signame(), plus trim the
signal list to that required by posix (they can specify the numbers for
the rest if they really need them).  (This is preparatory cleanup for adding
a timeout applet like Roberto Foglietta wants.)

Export the itoa (added due to Denis Vlasenko, although it's not quite his
preferred implementation) from xfuncs.c so it's actually used, and remove
several other redundant implementations of itoa and utoa() in the tree.

1cca9484db Upgrade netcat a lot. Make -e able to take the rest of the command line as 
what to exec.  Add -f mode and a brief explanation of how to use it to replace
minicom.  Add -l -l mode so you can turn any command into a server.  And group
all of netcat's command line options under two CONFIG entries, so if you
disable both it doesn't use getopt at all.

3f78561d63 My first bout of untangling udhcp. Make lots of gratuitous #defines go 
away, substitutie BB_VER for an external VERSION, use busybox CONFIG symbols
rather than checking for them then defining others, etc.  Lots more cleanup
