This removes the need to pass a starting and ending line when creating
a SourceCoverageView, since these are easy to determine.

A single function in SourceCoverageDataManager was the only user of
some of the comparisons in CounterMappingRegion, and at this point we
know that only one file is relevant. This lets us use slightly simpler
logic directly in the client.

The raw profiles that are generated in compiler-rt always add padding
so that each profile is aligned, so we can simply treat files that
don't have this property as malformed.

This fixes a call to sys::fs::equivalent that should've been to

llvm-cov had a SourceRange type that was nearly identical to a

aren't likely to be enough of these for the minor memory savings to be
worth the extra complexity here.

Type::dump() doesn't print a newline, which makes for a poor
experience in a debugger. This looks like it was an ommission
considering Value::dump() two lines above, so I've changed Type to add
a newline as well.
Of the two in-tree callers, one added a newline anyway, and I've
updated the other one to use Type::print instead.

Currently FileCheck errors out on empty input. This is usually the
right thing to do, but makes testing things like "this command does
not emit some error message" hard to test. This usually leads to
people using "command 2>&1 | count 0" instead, and then the bots that
use guard malloc fail a few hours later.
By adding a flag to FileCheck that allows empty inputs, we can make
tests that consist entirely of "CHECK-NOT" lines feasible.

path::const_iterator claims that it's a bidirectional iterator, but it
doesn't satisfy all of the contracts for a bidirectional iterator.
For example, n3376 24.2.5 p6 says "If a and b are both dereferenceable,
then a == b if and only if *a and *b are bound to the same object",
but this doesn't work with how we stash and recreate Components.
This means that our use of reverse_iterator on this type is invalid
and leads to many of the valgrind errors we're hitting, as explained
by Tilmann Scheller here:
http://lists.cs.uiuc.edu/pipermail/llvm-commits/Week-of-Mon-20140728/228654.html
Instead, we admit that path::const_iterator is only an input_iterator,
and implement a second input_iterator for path::reverse_iterator (by
changing const_iterator::operator-- to reverse_iterator::operator++).
All of the uses of this just traverse once over the path in one
direction or the other anyway.
git-svn-id: https://llvm.org/svn/llvm-project/llvm/trunk@214737 91177308-0d34-0410-b5e6-96231b3b80d8
This updates the instrumentation based profiling format so that when
we have multiple functions with the same name (but different function
hashes) we keep all of them instead of rejecting the later ones.
There are a number of scenarios where this can come up where it's more
useful to keep multiple function profiles:
* Name collisions in unrelated libraries that are profiled together.
* Multiple "main" functions from multiple tools built against a common
library.
* Combining profiles from different build configurations (ie, asserts
and no-asserts)
The profile format now stores the number of counters between the hash
and the counts themselves, so that multiple sets of counts can be
stored. Since this is backwards incompatible, I've bumped the format
version and added some trivial logic to skip this when reading the old
format.

The "valgrind was whining" comment looked promising in terms of a
simpler to debug case of the same errors. However, it appears that the

ones in the frontend, since this updated test isn't complaining for me
under valgrind.
In any case, the disabled tests weren't helping anybody.

Until now, attempting to create an alias of a required option would
complain if the user supplied the alias, because the required option
didn't have a value. Similarly, if you said the alias was required,
then using the base option would complain that the alias wasn't
supplied. Lastly, if you put required on both, *neither* option would
work.
By changning alias to overload addOccurrence and setting cl::Required
on the original option, we can get this to behave in a more useful
way. I've also added a test and updated a user that was getting this
wrong.

Allow multiple raw profiles to coexist in a single .profraw file,
given the following conditions:
- Zero padding at the end of or between profiles will be skipped.
- Each profile must start with a valid header.
- Mixing endianness or pointer sizes in concatenated profiles files is
not allowed.
This is needed to handle cases where a program's shared libraries are
profiled as well as the main executable itself, as we'll need to emit
each executable's counters. Combining the tables in the runtime would
be expensive for the instrumented program.

Reading line tables in llvm-cov was pretty broken, but would happen to
work as long as no line in the table was 0. It's not clear to me

In gcov, the -o flag can accept either a directory or a file name.
When given a directory, the gcda and gcno files are expected to be in
that directory. When given a file, the gcda and gcno files are
expected to be named based on the stem of that file. Non-existent
paths are treated as files.
This implements compatible behaviour.
git-svn-id: https://llvm.org/svn/llvm-project/llvm/trunk@201555 91177308-0d34-0410-b5e6-96231b3b80d8
Until now, when a path in a gcno file included a directory, we would
emit our .gcov file in that directory, whereas gcov always emits the
file in the current directory. In doing so, this implements gcov's
strange name-mangling -p flag, which is needed to avoid clobbering
files when two with the same name exist in different directories.
The path mangling is a bit ugly and only handles unix-like paths, but
it's simple, and it doesn't make any guesses as to how it should
behave outside of what gcov documents. If we decide this should be
cross platform later, we can consider the compatibility implications
then.
