Now that we don't merge section and segment names, we don't need to skip the
segment name to get to the section name.

On MachO, sections also have segment names. When a tool looking at a .o file
prints a segment name, this is what they mean. In reality, a .o has only one
anonymous, segment.
This patch adds a MachO only function to fetch that segment name. I named it
getSectionFinalSegmentName since the main use for the name seems to be inform
the linker with segment this section should go to.
The patch also changes MachOObjectFile::getSectionName to return just the
section name instead of computing SegmentName,SectionName.
The main difference from the previous patch is that it doesn't use
InMemoryStruct. It is extremely dangerous: if the endians match it returns
a pointer to the file buffer, if not, it returns a pointer to an internal buffer
that is overwritten in the next API call.
We should change all of this code to use
support::detail::packed_endian_specific_integral like ELF, but since these
functions only handle strings, they work with big and little endian machines
as is.
I have tested this by installing ubuntu 12.10 ppc on qemu, that is why it took
so long :-)

I cannot reproduce it the failures locally, so I will keep an eye at the ppc
bots. This patch does add the change to the "Disassembly of section" message,
but that is not what was failing on the bots.

In a previous thread it was pointed out that isPowerOfTwo is not a very precise
name since it can return false for powers of two if it is unable to show that
they are powers of two.

recursive invocations. Simply drop the parameter and update the callers for the
new signature.

and makes it clear how to add new instructions.

Give MCCFIInstruction a single, private constructor and add helper static
methods that create each type of cfi instruction. This is is preparation
for changing its representation. The representation with a pair
MachineLocations older than MC and has been abused quiet a bit to support
more cfi instructions.

output of both

llvm-extract foo.ll -func=bar -delete
so the two new files could not be linked together anymore. With this change
alias are handled almost like functions and global variables. Almost because
with alias we cannot just clear the initializer/body, we have to create a new
declaration and replace the alias with it.
The net result is that now the output of the above commands can be linked
even if foo.ll has aliases.

multiple edges between two blocks is linear. If the caller is iterating all
edges leaving a BB that would be a square time algorithm. It is more efficient
to have the callers handle that case.
Currently the only callers are:
* GVN: already avoids the multiple edge case.
* Verifier: could only hit this assert when looking at an invalid invoke. Since
it already rejects the invoke, just avoid computing the dominance for it.
git-svn-id: https://llvm.org/svn/llvm-project/llvm/trunk@162113 91177308-0d34-0410-b5e6-96231b3b80d8
where some fact lake a=b dominates a use in a phi, but doesn't dominate the
basic block itself.
This feature could also be implemented by splitting critical edges, but at least
with the current algorithm reasoning about the dominance directly is faster.
The time for running "opt -O2" in the testcase in pr10584 is 1.003 times slower
and on gcc as a single file it is 1.0007 times faster.
git-svn-id: https://llvm.org/svn/llvm-project/llvm/trunk@162023 91177308-0d34-0410-b5e6-96231b3b80d8
a use or a BB, but it is inline in the handling of the invoke instruction.
This patch refactors it so that it can be used in other cases. For example, in
define i32 @f(i32 %x) {
bb0:
%cmp = icmp eq i32 %x, 0
br i1 %cmp, label %bb2, label %bb1
bb1:
br label %bb2
bb2:
%cond = phi i32 [ %x, %bb0 ], [ 0, %bb1 ]
%foo = add i32 %cond, %x
ret i32 %foo
}
GVN should be able to replace %x with 0 in any use that is dominated by the
true edge out of bb0. In the above example the only such use is the one in
the phi.

double x1;
float x2;
};
__attribute__((regparm(3))) struct s f(int a, int b, int c);

mutually incompatible.
