109447ff1b [mips] Add assembler support for .set arch=x directive.
Summary:
This directive is similar to ".set mipsX".
It is used to change the CPU target of the assembler, enabling it to accept instructions for a specific CPU.

This patch only implements the r4000 CPU (which is treated internally as generic mips3) and the generic ISAs.

Contains work done by Matheus Almeida.

5535fca8bf Revert: r215698 - Current implementation of c.cond.fmt instructions only accept default cc0 register...
It causes a number of regressions when -fintegrated-as is enabled. This happens
because there are codegen-only instructions that incorrectly uses the first
operand as the encoding for the $fcc register. The regressions do not occur when
-via-file-asm is also given.

5d16d6c3f0 Re-commit: [mips] Implement .ent, .end, .frame, .mask and .fmask.
Patch by Matheus Almeida and Toma Tabacu

The lld test failure on the previous attempt to commit was caused by the
addition of the .pdr section causing the offsets it was checking to change.
This has been fixed by removing the .ent/.end directives from that test since
they weren't really needed.

98b419bff7 [mips] Add assembler support for '.set mipsX'.
Summary:
This patch also fixes an issue with the way the Mips assembler enables/disables architecture
features. Before this patch, the assembler never disabled feature bits. For example,
.set mips64
.set mips32r2

would result in the 'OR' of mips64 with mips32r2 feature bits which isn't right.
Unfortunately this isn't trivial to fix because there's not an easy way to clear
feature bits as the algorithm in MCSubtargetInfo (ToggleFeature) only clears the bits
that imply the feature being cleared and not the implied bits by the feature (there's a
better explanation to the code I added).

6816d66d99 [mips] Add MipsOptionRecord abstraction and use it to implement .reginfo/.MIPS.options
This abstraction allows us to support the various records that can be placed in
the .MIPS.options section in the future. We currently use it to record register
usage information (the ODK_REGINFO record in our ELF64 spec).

Each .MIPS.options record should subclass MipsOptionRecord and provide an
implementation of EmitMipsOptionRecord.

3da6527068 [mips] Correct ELF e_flags for the N32 ABI when using a mips-* triple rather than a mips64-* triple
Summary:
Generally speaking, mips-* vs mips64-* should not be used to make decisions
about the content or format of the ELF. This should be based on the ABI
and CPU in use. For example, `mips-linux-gnu-clang -mips64r2 -mabi=64`
should produce an ELF64 as should `mips64-linux-gnu-clang -mabi=64`.
Conversely, `mips64-linux-gnu-clang -mabi=n32` should produce an ELF32 as
should `mips-linux-gnu-clang -mips64r2 -mabi=n32`.

This patch fixes the e_flags but leaves the ELF32 vs ELF64 issue for now
since there is no apparent way to base this decision on the ABI and CPU.

Using a 1-byte EntrySize for .MIPS.options seems strange because the

24a071b8c5 [mips] Add support for -modd-spreg/-mno-odd-spreg
Summary:
When -mno-odd-spreg is in effect, 32-bit floating point values are not
permitted in odd FPU registers. The option also prohibits 32-bit and 64-bit
floating point comparison results from being written to odd registers.

This option has three purposes:
* It allows support for certain MIPS implementations such as loongson-3a that
do not allow the use of odd registers for single precision arithmetic.
* When using -mfpxx, -mno-odd-spreg is the default and this allows us to
statically check that code is compliant with the O32 FPXX ABI since mtc1/mfc1
instructions to/from odd registers are guaranteed not to appear for any
reason. Once this has been established, the user can then re-enable
-modd-spreg to regain the use of all 32 single-precision registers.
* When using -mfp64 and -mno-odd-spreg together, an O32 extension named
O32 FP64A is used as the ABI. This is intended to provide almost all
functionality of an FR=1 processor but can also be executed on a FR=0 core
with the assistance of a hardware compatibility mode which emulates FR=0
  behaviour on an FR=1 processor.

* Added '.module oddspreg' and '.module nooddspreg' each of which update
  the .MIPS.abiflags section appropriately
* Moved setFpABI() call inside emitDirectiveModuleFP() so that the caller
doesn't have to remember to do it.
* MipsABIFlags now calculates the flags1 and flags2 member on demand rather
than trying to maintain them in the same format they will be emitted in.

There is one portion of the -mfp64 and -mno-odd-spreg combination that is not
implemented yet. Moves to/from odd-numbered double-precision registers must not
use mtc1. I will fix this in a follow-up.

bb804ee909 Emit DWARF3 call frame information when DWARF3+ debug info is requested
Currently, llvm always emits a DWARF CIE with a version of 1, even when emitting
DWARF 3 or 4, which both support CIE version 3. This patch makes it emit the
newer CIE version when we are emitting DWARF 3 or 4. This will not reduce
compatibility, as we already emit other DWARF3/4 features, and is worth doing as
the DWARF3 spec removed some ambiguities in the interpretation of call frame
information.

It also fixes a minor bug where the "return address" field of the CIE was
encoded as a ULEB128, which is only valid when the CIE version is 3. There are
no test changes for this, because (as far as I can tell) none of the platforms
that we test have a return address register with a DWARF register number >127.

emit a sign extension using sll and sra. I have improved this to use seb/seh

8007133f3e [mips][mips64r6] c.cond.fmt, mov[fntz], and mov[fntz].[ds] are not available on MIPS32r6/MIPS64r6
Summary:
c.cond.fmt has been replaced by cmp.cond.fmt. Where c.cond.fmt wrote to
dedicated condition registers, cmp.cond.fmt writes 1 or 0 to normal FGR's
(like the GPR comparisons).

mov[fntz] have been replaced by seleqz and selnez. These instructions
conditionally zero a register based on a bool in a GPR. The results can
then be or'd together to act as a select without, for example, requiring a third
register read port.

mov[fntz].[ds] have been replaced with sel.[ds]

MIPS64r6 currently generates unnecessary sign-extensions for most selects.
This is because the result of a SETCC is currently an i32. Bits 32-63 are
undefined in i32 and the behaviour of seleqz/selnez would otherwise depend
on undefined bits. Later, we will fix this by making the result of SETCC an
i64 on MIPS64 targets.

c96096cc0f [mips][mips64r6] Add b[on]vc
Summary:
This required me to implement the disassembler for MIPS64r6 since the encodings
are ambiguous with other instructions. This in turn revealed a few
assembly/disassembly bugs which I have fixed.

* da[ht]i only take two operands according to the spec, not three.
* DecodeBranchTarget2[16] correctly handles wider immediates than simm16
  * Also made non-functional change to DecodeBranchTarget and
DecodeBranchTargetMM to keep implementation style consistent between
    them.
* Difficult encodings are handled by a custom decode method on the most
general encoding in the group. This method will convert the MCInst to a
  different opcode if necessary.

DecodeBranchTarget is not currently the inverse of getBranchTargetOpValue
so disassembling some branch instructions emit incorrect output. This seems
to affect branches with delay slots on all MIPS ISA's. I've left this bug
for now and temporarily removed the check for the immediate on
bc[12]eqz/bc[12]nez in the MIPS32r6/MIPS64r6 tests.

2bb463448b Temporarily revert: r209129 - [mips][mips64r6] Sorted *_ENC, *_DESC classes and tests
After discussion with Zoran, we have decided to temporarily revert this commit.
It's causing some difficult to resolve conflicts and we are under time pressure
to deliver an initial MIPS64r6 compiler.

We will re-apply an equivalent patch once the time pressure has passed.

Summary:
To limit the number of tests required, only one 64-bit ISA prior to MIPS64 are tested.

rdhwr has been deliberately left without an ISA annotation for now. This is
because the assembler and CodeGen disagree on when the instruction is
available. Strictly speaking, it is only available in MIPS32r2 and
MIPS64r2. However, it is emulated by a kernel trap on earlier ISA's and is

4f83e2ca5d [mips] Correct tests that are meant to test valid assembly. They were actually rejected by GAS.
Summary:
I've noticed a bug in my test generator script that caused 64-bit objects
to be disassembled as if it were using the O32 ABI, giving the wrong register
names. As a result, it generated assembly files that are rejected by GAS when
assembling for the correct ABI. This was caused by the generator setting the
ELF e_flags incorrectly before disassembling the object.

This patch corrects the invalid tests that have already been committed by
replacing the ABI-dependent register names with numeric registers. In addition
to fixing the tests this allows the 32-bit and 64-bit ISA tests to be easily diffed
to produce the invalid-*.s tests which test that instructions defined in later ISA's
are not accepted.

The intention is to work through the existing instructions and correctly
annotate the ISA they were added in so that we have a sufficiently good
base to start MIPS64r6 development. MIPS64r6 removes/re-encodes certain
instructions and I believe it is best to define ISA's using set-union's
as far as possible rather than using set-subtraction.

I made one small change to the testcase so that it uses
mips64-unknown-linux instead of mips4-unknown-linux.

This patch indirectly adds FeatureCondMov to FeatureMips64. This is ok
because it's supposed to be there anyway and it turns out that
FeatureCondMov is not a predicate of any instructions at the moment
(this is a bug that hasn't been noticed because there are no targets
without the conditional move instructions yet).

bd48d31b37 [mips] Rewrite MipsAsmParser and MipsOperand.
Summary:
Highlights:
- Registers are resolved much later (by the render method).
Prior to that point, GPR32's/GPR64's are GPR's regardless of register
size. Similarly FGR32's/FGR64's/AFGR64's are FGR's regardless of register
size or FR mode. Numeric registers can be anything.
- All registers are parsed the same way everywhere (even when handling
  symbol aliasing)
  - One consequence is that all registers can be specified numerically
almost anywhere (e.g. $fccX, $wX). The exception is symbol aliasing
but that can be easily resolved.
- Removes the need for the hasConsumedDollar hack
- Parenthesis and Bracket suffixes are handled generically
- Micromips instructions are parsed directly instead of going through the
  standard encodings first.
- rdhwr accepts all 32 registers, and the following instructions that previously
  xfailed now work:
    ddiv, ddivu, div, divu, cvt.l.[ds], se[bh], wsbh, floor.w.[ds], c.ngl.d,
    c.sf.s, dsbh, dshd, madd.s, msub.s, nmadd.s, nmsub.s, swxc1
- Diagnostics involving registers point at the correct character (the $)
- There's only one kind of immediate in MipsOperand. LSA immediates are handled
  by the predicate and renderer.

Lowlights:
- Hardcoded '$zero' in the div patterns is handled with a hack.
MipsOperand::isReg() will return true for a k_RegisterIndex token
with Index == 0 and getReg() will return ZERO for this case. Note that it
  doesn't return ZERO_64 on isGP64() targets.
- I haven't cleaned up all of the now-unused functions.
Some more of the generic parser could be removed too (integers and relocs
  for example).
- insve.df needed a custom decoder to handle the implicit fourth operand that
was needed to make it parse correctly. The difficulty was that the matcher
expected a Token<'0'> but gets an Imm<0>. Adding an implicit zero solved this.
