85c5465e07 Convert RegClass::IsColorUsedArr from a dynamically allocated array to 
a vector.  This makes asserting on array bounds easier.

0243ff9e62 InstrnsBefore and InstrnsAfter are now vectors instead of deques. 
May be slightly less efficient but significantly reduces special
cases interfaces in code generation.

dabb41d93d Numerous bug fixes: 
-- passing FP arguments to functions with more than 6 arguments
-- passing FP arguments to varargs functions
-- passing FP arguments to functions with no prototypes
-- incorrect coloring for CC registers (both int and FP): interferences
   were being completely ignored for int CC and were considered but no
   spills were marked for fp CC!

Also some code improvements:
-- better interface to generating machine instr for common cases
   (many places still need to be updated to use this interface)
-- annotations on MachineInstr to communicate information from
   one codegen phase to another (now used to pass information about
   CALL/JMPLCALL operands from selection to register allocation)
-- all sizes and offests in class TargetData are uint64_t instead of uint

78771c886a Fix bug: test/Regression/CBackend/2002-05-16-NameCollide.ll by tracking 
which global variables would have name collisions if they were not mangled,
and use this info to mangle them iff they would collide.

d0c668c380 Two Cleanups to generated C code: 
1. Avoid printing *(&globalvariable), instead print globalvariable alone
   as a special case.
2. Inline subexpressions into expressions as much as legal that preserves
   execution characteristics of expressions.  Now we get nice (but
   over-parenthesized, oh well) things like:

     ltmp_428_7 = spec__putc(((unsigned char )((bsBuff) >> 24)), (bsStream));

   instead of five seperate instructions (bsBuff & bsStream are globals).

2d05a1acb0 * Remove dead "constant printing" code 
* Mangle names with only a prefix so that they are easier on the eyes.
* Put spaces around binary operators with low precedence to make them easier to read

f57b845547 * Rename MethodPass class to FunctionPass 
- Rename runOnMethod to runOnFunction
* Transform getAnalysisUsageInfo into getAnalysisUsage
  - Method is now const
  - It now takes one AnalysisUsage object to fill in instead of 3 vectors
    to fill in
  - Pass's now specify which other passes they _preserve_ not which ones
    they modify (be conservative!)
  - A pass can specify that it preserves all analyses (because it never
    modifies the underlying program)
* s/Method/Function/g in other random places as well

dbc4fad577 Insert copy operations for FP arguments to a varargs function, 
to copy the FP arg. to an integer.  Necessary so that the

af50d00829 * Add a file header with some information 
* Delete the DelaySlotInfo objects created by the SchedulingManager class.
  These leaked objects were accounting for 3/4 of the memory leaked by the
  backend, so this is a relatively major win.
* Reorganize SchedulingManager::getDelaySlotInfoForInstr so that it has
  better code locality (making it easier to read).

f3dd05ca03 Clean up the ownership model a bit so that nodes actually get deleted more 
frequently. This still leaks edges quite a bit, but it leaks no nodes
(I think).

69a34cddaf Value cannot be directly instantiated. I think that this code was TRYING to 
make a PHI node, although it was badly broken.  This keeps tests passing, so
we'll go with it.

function in the one .cpp file that uses it.  Use ValueSet's instead.
* Prepare to delete LiveVarSet.h & LiveVarSet.cpp
* Eliminate the ValueSet class, making all old member functions into global
  templates that will eventually be moved to Support.
* Eliminate some irrelevant const's

9adb7ad457 * The itf exposed by InstrScheduling is now a single function to create the right pass 
* InstructionScheduling is now a real pass
* InstrSched _uses_ LiveVar analysis, instead of creating it's own copy many times
  through a loop.  In this was LiveVarAnalysis is actually even SHARED by Register
  allocation.
* SchedPriorities is now passed the live var information in

91014f6b0c Canged ColorCallArg so that when a call arg is directly pushed on to stack 
for argument passing, that instruction is directly added to the InstructionsBefore

200a435966 Eliminate most uses of the machine instruction vector for each LLVM instr, 
since some m. instr. may be generated by LLVM instrs. in other blocks.
Handle non-SSA (anti and output) edges and true edges uniformly by

e64574ce71 Major change to how defs are found when adding dependences (they 
are now found as part of the initial walk of the machine code).
Also memory load/store instructions can be generated for non-memory

ff5a09ee44 Fix bugs in FITOS/D instruction generation. 
The space for optional args in the stack frame is now being computed,
so finish the code generation for the variable `alloca'.

b7f06f46a1 Fixed instruction information for RDCCR and WRCCR. 
Fixed selection to create a TmpInstruction for each integer CC register

InstrSelectionSupport.cpp.  It now happens in a bottom-up pass on

6d35326cd5 1. Add a bottom-up pass on BURG trees that is used to fix constant operands.

0714e3bc44 Make the sparc.burg file be a little more flexible and rubust in the fact of 
renumbering of instructions.  It is still horribly broken and grossly dependant on the number of instructions, but now it is a least a little better.

Oh yeah it also works now.

f0604b84c7 Pull predecessor and successor iterators out of the CFG*.h files, and plop them into 
the BasicBlock class where they should be.  pred_begin/pred_end become methods on BasicBlock,
and the cfg namespace isn't used anymore.

4cecdd206e Several fixes: 
(1) Avoid hard-coding some register numbers.
(2) Fix some incorrect branch opcodes.
(3) Don't try to move int register to float register!
(4) If an operand being forwarded is a constant and it doesn't fit
    into the immed field of the copy machine instruction, then
    generate a load-constant instead of a copy.
(5) Use (unsigned long) 0 for copying a pointer via "add 0, ptr -> ptr2".

c5b4632c27 Bug fixes: 
(1) Ensure that delay slot instructions are not moved out of place (this
    was happening for some CALL instructions).  Basically, we need to
    move all delay slot instructions out of the graph and handle them
    along with the delayed control transfer instruction.
(2) Mark scheduled instructions correctly when instructions are scheduled
    in more than one cycle in a single step (due to delay slots).

f6e0e28135 Checkin changes to: 
1. Clean up the TargetMachine structure.  No more wierd pointers that have to
   be cast around and taken care of by the target.
2. Instruction Scheduling now takes the schedinfo as an argument.  The same
   should be done with the instinfo, it just isn't now.

0e6530ee1b This checkin represents some cleanup of the backend, implementing the following things: 
1. The TargetMachine structure is free to decide the process a particular target uses to generate code.
2. All of the gooee details of the sparc backend are now localized in the lib/CodeGen/TargetMAchine/Sparc directory.  The Sparc.h file that is globally visible is just a stub.
3. The Sparc.h file that esxists now will dissapear entirely someday when we have multiple backends chosen by a factory of some sort.

NOTE! The BBLiveVar.cpp file dependant on the Sparc backend, and is therefore not generic/portale to other backends.  This needs to be fixed.

8b5f6cc0a4 analyze() now checks to see that we don't analyze the same method twice. 
Needs a mechnanism to override this check (e.g., after a transformation).
